Modern office behind old walls

In the south of Stuttgart (Germany), BFK architekten have been working in premises with a new and contemporary design in an old, listed building since August 2024.

Anyone who needs to be creative professionally needs a workplace that offers space for development and communication. Just like the new offices of BFK architekten, founded in Stuttgart in 1973. The Europe-wide architectural firm with locations in Stuttgart, Heidelberg and Sarajevo moved to a listed building in the south of the city in summer 2024. The old building from the 19th century used to house a paper factory, and later the State Statistics Office. The entire area around Mörikehof is now regarded as an up-and-coming creative district - a perfect location for a successful architectural firm.

Open-plan office with different zones

On the second floor of the old building in Adlerstraße 31, a total of 51 workplaces are available for BFK employees over an area of around 870 square metres. There are also five meeting rooms of different sizes as well as a work cafe with a fully equipped kitchen, seating and table football.

Open and spacious as an open-space office with room-in-room solutions, with different zones for effective work and creative exchange as well as quiet retreats.

High ceilings underline the old building character

Ample glass creates transparency, and mainly white and partially flexible furniture makes the light-flooded rooms appear even brighter and more inviting. The dark liquid linoleum floors with cocoa shell inclusions provide a colourful contrast. Almost four-metre-high ceilings, white-framed glazed windows and white ceiling linings and columns underline the charming old-fashioned character. Light wood on the interior doors and window frames harmonises with Troldtekt acoustic panels in natural wood. They are installed between the battens, round off the overall design concept and ensure good acoustic conditions with their sound-absorbing properties.
